El próximo año 2010 la ciudad de Gotemburgo (Suecia)  acogerá el congreso anual de la IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations).El congreso se divide, como en años anteriores, en diferentes grupos profesionales. Entre la variedad de propuestas y temas que aparecerán en este congreso nos llama la atención el siguiente grupo: Audiovisual and Multimedia Section, que ha elegido como tema el siguiente: Open access – on the horns of a dilemma between piracy and legality? Para estimular el envío de comunicaciones presentan este texto que incide en problemas muy candentes: «How can the librarian or archivist cope with the rapid increase in such Internet services? Can we learn something from the pirates and the commercial providers? Will copyright become an excuse for not publishing audiovisual materials on the web? Indeed, there is a relatively small number of audiovisual works in the public domain on the Internet. These issues need to be discussed. If no action is taken, future generations may not even know that we existed!».

El plazo de envío de propuestas para comunicaciones llega hasta el 18 de enero de 2010.
